Wow...My 100th post! How about those Shenanigans? I've really enjoyed blogging, and hope to continue bringing you funny stories, coupons, and deals!
Pray for You is a new country song that I originally saw on Three Rights and a Left blog and have now heard it on the radio twice! At first, I didn't give the song much chance, so I want to warn you to at least give it 40 seconds to get past the intro. Even the Mr. got a chuckle or two out of it!!
I am sure we could all dedicate this song to someone in our lives! Even if you don't want to admit it, you know it is true. I'm not being mean; this is just us being human! I am sure glad a man is singing it, but I wouldn't be surprised if a women wrote the lyrics!!
I hope you get a great laugh out of it on this hump day!

Don't Forget: Carolina Consigns Event: Friday and Saturday!
I posted about this event a couple of weeks ago. (Click Here). Last night, I went to the preview sale (I helped with some advertising of the event, so I got to shop early), and bought several things. Everything is very organized and they have a lot of great things (womens clothes and house wares) at reasonable prices.
I shopped the maternity rack...of course. I found a pair of 7 for all Mankind maternity jeans for $30. This was by far my deal from the sale and favorite item purchased. After shopping at the sale, I went to Pea in the Pod at Town Centre, and their Seven jeans were $210 (yikes...). In fact, there really wasn't anything in that store less than $40.
At Carolina Consigns, I purchased the jeans, a pair of shorts, four shirts, and a dress for $77!
One thing to note about the sale. You can't try anything on in a dressing room(BUMMER), so dress accordingly. If I go back, I will wear leggings and a tank with a big shirt over it. When I want to try something, I will just take the big shirt off. No dressing rooms are common at these sales, as they can't control theft.
Here are the sale details:

Fri. 3/26—public sale 10AM-7PM
Sat. 3/27—public sale 8AM-4PM (50% off 11AM-4PM)

What Happened to B92?
I need a new radio station for my dial. Apparently B92 is no longer and now it is 92 The Box ("is hip hop"). Their tag line, which I heard on the way home yesterday, is "we're going to turn Hollywood into HollyHOOD." I hope they are talking about Hollywood, California! As many of you know, I have a certain affinity towards Hollywood, South Carolina and want it to stay HollyWOOD! There is enough Shenanigans going on in Hollywood without making it "the Hood!"
Here is the City Paper article about it with a link to their ridiculous YouTube video.
OK, so I need your help. Give me another station for my dial. What's on your dial?
Here's my current dial:
92.5 (got to go!)
93.3 (this is the only rap station I like...I never listen to it, but I am a station flipper. I stop on the songs)
95.1 (I wish there was another station in Charleston with this music...we need two)
96.9 (Glad we have two country stations)
102.5 (This replaced Alice 100.5 when it left)
103.5 (The only consistent station in town)

Guest Post: Couponing at the James Island Publix (Folly Road)
I have received lots of emails from those who have shopped at other Publix. Many of you have not had any luck with competitor coupons. I asked one of my coworkers, Sheri, (a coupon queen) to explain how it work at the Publix on James Island. Here is what she said:
"I have not had any issues with coupons at the Publix on JI. A few cashiers I stay away from because they scrutinize my coupons, but I always have them done correctly. They take anyone as a competitor except World Market. They won't let you split orders anymore...only 1 $5 off coupon per day. I know people that just go outside and come in for more shopping to use another $5 off coupon. I have used Rite Aid, CVS, Earth Fare, Food Lion, Harris Teeter, and Bi-Lo coupons without any problem. There is a new policy from Corporate though after the Knox $4 (most Knox items are less than a dollar) fiasco... the value of the coupon can't be higher than the cost of the product...i.e you can't use a $4 off coupon for an item that is $1. "
Readers, the next time you go to Publix on James Island; feel comfortable using any competitor coupon except World Market. If the cashier says you can't use it, ask for the manager.

The Wreck of the Richard & Charlene
We made the "voyage" (if you know where we live, there is no other way to describe it) to Mt. Pleasant to The Wreck for dinner on Saturday night. This was one of the first places we went while dating (beginning to date). The place is not much to look at. In fact, it looks like a dump! Every time we go, people (tourists) whisper to us, while we are waiting for a table, "Is this place good? Are you sure."
You eat on paper plates, drink beer or soda from cans, and eat on a covered back porch over looking Shem Creek and the shrimp boats.
The Mr. is a huge fan of their Mahi Mahi. His review is "it's the best in town!" I love the boiled peanuts each table gets before dinner and their red rice!!
Oh! One note if you would like to try The Wreck...cash only!

What do Vasectomies have to do with March Madness?
The alarm goes off at 5AM and the TV turns on at 5:02AM. While trying to wake up (it usually take 45 mins), I hear "Vasectomies increase by 50% the week of March Madness..." So, naturally I try to tune in a little harder. This is what I found out...
"SEATTLE (KING5.com)– It appears men have found out that the first week of the NCAA Tournament is the perfect time to get a vasectomy.
Across the country, urologists like Dr. Stephen Jones of the Cleveland Clinic find that the number of scheduled vasectomies tends to jump by 50 percent the week that the tournament begins.
"We'll certainly see a load start early Thursday morning and they're prepared by the time the games get started. A lot of those guys are already ready. They're propped back and hopefully icing down and ready for a good weekend," said Jones.
A good weekend of doing nothing but chilling out with your feet up. So, no working on that honey-do list.
"At least 24 to 48 hours with an ice pack on. Frozen peas and corn are often used. Some of the guys tease about a cold beer. I'm not sure how well that works," said Jones.
Doctors have noticed a similar jump in surgeries just before the Super Bowl, too.
What if you want to use a vasectomy as an excuse for next year? The procedure is reversible, so you can do it all over again."
Coupon Ladies: I wouldn't leave you hanging in this post. Here is a Birds Eye Coupon! Click Here

You Could've Had a V8
Let me introduce you to a STAPLE in our house! The Mr. LOVES V8 V-Fusion. I think we go through about two bottles a week, and at $3.99 a bottle, this stuff is not cheap! The Mr. likes it because it is 100% juice. I like it because it sneaks in vege and fruit servings. I don't have problems with fruit, but veges are a struggle for me.
Here's what V8 has to say about its product "V8 V-Fusion is made of 100% juice that blends the vegetable juices with just the right amount of select fruit juices for a light, sweet taste and texture."
Have you tried this great stuff? If not, this week is your chance because it is buy one get one free at Publix.
Unfortunately for my house, V8 Fusion coupons are hard to come by, so we often pay full price, but this week we will be stocking up.

A Flip Clip of My Ultrasound
Here is a "clip" from the "flip" of my ultrasound.
Yes! To my readers who have never seen me before, here I am (anonymity is now over)!!
I had my ultrasound (lst Trimester Screening) at the MUSC Prenatal Wellness Center. More to come on the 1st trimester screening. I should know some results by the end of the week.

Learning How to Work This Bad Boy!
Since Thursday, I have been trying to figure out the Flip Ultra HD. On Friday when we filmed my ultrasound, the Flip kept showing a low battery, so we kept plugging it in (it charges by the USB on a computer). Finally on Saturday (after some internet research), I find that we are not the only ones that have had trouble with the Flip Ultra HD. There are charging difficulties with it. Here are the directions I followed to make it work (It took 7 hours to charge fully).
If your battery pack is not charging properly, please try the following (go here to see e-user001, the smarty that figured it all out!):
1) remove the battery pack from the camcorder
2) connect the camcorder to a powered USB port on your computer
3) when the "Connected" indicator comes on, insert the battery pack into the camcorder
4) safe eject your camcorder from your computer
5) reconnect your camcorder to your computer
6) the battery pack should now begin to charge within the camcorder

Our Little One
Everything went really well at the lst trimester screening today, and everything looks normal. We'll have the full results when my bloodwork comes back in about a week. The ultrasound tech at MUSC Prenatal Wellness Center, Juli, was AWESOME!
Our little one had its legs crossed the whole time (very proper just like its mom!!), so we don't know what it is yet! Juli tried everything to try to get it to move, but he/she was comfortable where it was!

Two BIG pieces of NEWS!
If word on the street hasn't gotten to you yet, I have some BIG NEWS! We're expecting September 21, 2010! We have our 1st Trimester Screening Ultrasound today. Some say that we may be able to tell what sex the baby is today!
I hope I am not getting my hopes up too much, but we are looking forward to seeing the baby and knowing more about him/her. We are about 12 to 13 weeks along.
The next BIG NEWS is I am thinking about starting another blog to record my pregnancy. How about those shenanigans? Would you follow me there too or would you rather me post on here once a week?
Update: Here is the link to my other blog, Mrs. Pregnant in the Lowcountry: http://mrspregnantlowcountry.blogspot.com/

Bucks in the Boro!
Bucks in the Boro is a campaign put on by the town of Walterboro encouraging locals to shop locally instead of coming to the "big city" of Charleston to shop. All the local businesses are involved, and if you shop at one of the local stores, they give you a nice "Bucks in the Boro" tote bag!
The Mr. and I traveled to Walterboro on Saturday. It didn't take us long from our house to get there. In fact, it's shorter (time wise) for us to go to Walterboro than down town Charleston when you factor in parking.
Walterboro has a small "cute" downtown area with lots of little shops. The two that I have been to are Colleton's Fine Clothing and Especially Yours Too. I plan to take my mother-in-law to Walterboro when she visits us next because there is lots of antique shopping to be found in the 'boro!
Oh! The food we ate! Duke's BBQ!! Don't think you can beat that!!
So, if you are looking for a day trip somewhere and enjoy to shop, consider the Boro!!

Fruit Chillers with a "COOL" coupon!
When seeing a coupon for these:
It makes me think of this:
Del Monte Fruit Chillers coupon is for $1 off any Del Monte Fruit Chillers tubes or cups.
If you really like these, make sure to hit the back button on after printing each coupon to print more. It normally only lets you print two, but I kept hitting the back button (like 8 times), and it still let me print. So, I say "stock up" if it is something you "dig!" I printed a lot just in case I like them. I'll try some on my next trip to Publix.
Oh! Word on the street is that these sell for $2 at Walmart, so this would be a buck a box after coupon!!

CH CH What is missing?.......UR (aka ME)!
What's on my mind this morning? Well, church is on the mind. The Mr. and I have just started going back to church (as of last Sunday). I am Lutheran, and The Mr. was baptized Methodist. Not that any of the denomination stuff matters, but I at least like to start looking at these type churches first, as I am comfortable with it. Going to church has always been a part of my life, and there is nothing else my family would have ever considered different for Sunday morning. It is a way of life.
Over the past two years, we've really "slacked" on church (sleeping in on Sunday AM, going to Publix before the church crowd, and working on the house all weekend). 2009, I tried a church close to my home. I went to 11AM service, but it just didn't feel like my home church. Every time I go to a church, nothing feels like home (I’m not going back to that one…that’s why we’re on the hunt again…way more to that story). I wonder if I am trying to replace something that just can't be duplicated. When does it come to the point when I just "settle" and learn to be happy with some place new. Well, as many of you know, my "home church" is a two hour drive, so being apart of it is just not an option. Also what is not an option for me is to continue not going anywhere. Church is a need I have that is currently not being fufilled.
How do we go about finding a church? I have a "longing" for church and a church family (especially). The Mr....well, not so much. He is willing to go and be there for me.
We visited a friend's church last Sunday. I even saw some folks from work I knew. The service was very light hearted, and the structure didn't seem too intimidating. One con that the Mr. pointed out was when doing a baptism there wasn't much to it. Just didn't seem very "holy"...for a lack of a better word. They were very light hearted during it, and it just didn't seem serious. Now, I am sure the preacher is serious about his faith...don't get me wrong, but again, it is not my "home" church. That is not how it happens there.
HOWEVER, I think we could be happy there, but should we keep looking? When do you know when you visit a church it is the one? (Certainly if I was purchasing a car, I wouldn’t buy the first one I test drove! Same went for dating/ “love and marriage!!”)
So, I ask you; how did you find your church? Know of any churches in West Ashley (Charleston) that the Mr. and I should visit?

Two High Value Coupons on the Loose!
Thanks to World Market and their fabulous coupon, I only spent $67.49 at Publix this weekend, and saved $76.89 ($50 just in World Market Competitor Coupons)!!!
Here are some high value coupons that are on the loose right now! I've printed 10 of each to try to get me through till they expire.
World Market ($10 off $30)
Rite Aid ($3 off $15...great for when you just have to pick up a few items)
Now...one word of caution! You have to be very patient when couponing. It took me 10 minutes (with a line backed up behind me) to get the $50 discount. The cashier said I couldn't use all of them. I told her that I spoke to "x" at customer service BEFORE getting in line, and she said they were ok. The cashier went to "x," and they had a chat, which lead to the back office of the store. Meanwhile, I am getting dagger looks from the people behind me. She comes back and said it was ok by the store manager. She then stated if she would have done it on her own and it wasn't ok, she could have been fired. I understand, but the people behind me...well, I don't think they did! The folks behind me made some coupon joke behind me as I was leaving with my buggie. In the end, I SAVED $67.49, and YOU (Biotch behind me) PAID FULL PRICE!
PS Just for the record, the misinformed cashier held up the line, NOT ME!
